BIO

Dj M.t.M (Murry the Magnificent "King of Breaks" a.k.a Murry the Mayor) is a superior entertainer. Born and raised in Chicago, Murry's ability to "read" his crowd and respond with an appropriate musical articulation, illustrates the breadth of experience with which Murry is able to spin records. In 2001 Murry began playing solely Hip-Hop music at house parties while attending school in Carbondale Illinois. The son of a dj, Murry was exposed to music ranging from: Funk, Soul, and Disco, to Blues, Rock, and Jazz while still in the womb. This foundation and the competitive Chicago dj scene quickly lead to Murry expanding his musical vocabulary to include: Funk, Soul, House, Disco, Afro-Beat, Reggae, Electronica, and anything else that's dance music. M.t.M is described by peers and industry professionals as one of the best around. During his time as a Dj, Murry has been fortunate enough to have played along with acts such as The Beastie Boys, Blackalicious, Digable Planets, Cut Chemist, Robin Thicke, & Sean Paul to name a few. Currently, Murry can be heard every second Friday at The Layover in Oakland, CA.

He's rocking my new favorite joint in Oakland tonight, Layover. I' unfortunately will be in SF, checking out Alice Russell at Yoshis, where one John Litz is now the GM. Small world, huh? I may hit the Layoiver for afterhours type thing.
